About Proso Millets

Proso millet (Panicum miliaceum), also known as common millet, is a fast-growing, drought-tolerant crop used for food and forage, rich in protein and fiber, and gluten-free. Also known as panivaragu, varigalu, barri, common millet, broomcorn millet, hog millet, French white Proso millet is a staple grain in central India, southern India, and the mountainous parts of Uttarakhand.

Proso millet is a warm-season grass capable of producing seed in 60 to 100 days after planting. Proso millet is a good source of protein, fiber, and essential vitamins and minerals, including B vitamins, iron, and magnesium.
